Live Forever

The Doctor’s words were replayed in her mind like the worst nightmare she ever had. Terminal cancer, one to three months to live. Her abdomon already had excrutiating pain but the doctor’s words had zapped the hope from the depths of her soul. Her hurt was now in the deepest part of her being. She was repeatedly vomiting in a bed pan, moaning and weeping with the deep pain that she was experiencing. A pastor visiting another woman in the same room was moved by the deep hurt that this woman was experiencing.  “Can I talk with you?” he asked. Soon she was repeating what the doctor had told her and the deep hopelessness that she was feeling. The Pastor with an empathetic ear and a breaking heart began to share with this dear soul the hope of eternity that believers in Christ share. Soon she was sitting on the side of her bed communicating her deep regret for the shortcomings of her life. The pastor told her  that God is the great physician and He is the only one who knows the days, hours, minutes and seconds that we have remaining here on earth. He shared that God loved her with an everlasting love. The pastor asked her if she believed in Jesus and she responded that she did although she had never made him Lord and Savior of her life. The woman was no longer vomiting or weeping but was in a deep spiritual discussion with this man of God. Within the hour this woman became a Christ-follower and prayed to her God, asking for forgiveness for her sins while trusting her future to Him. Soon this woman was smiling and praising God for she had received a renewed hope. She now understood and believed that if she were to die yet that day, she would spend eternity in a better place and be with her Savior Jesus forever. The pastor spoke with some of the staff at the nursing home and told them what this dear woman had just done and their was rejoicing in that room and in heaven. This woman now smiling, talking and praising God, was healed of eternal death and now possessed the hope of eternal life. The pastor asked the woman if she would like to baptized in the presence of these witnesses and she did. Soon the pastor took a container of water and baptize her in the name of the Father, Som and Holy Spirit.  Rejoicing broke out once again and joy was in everyone’s heart and smiles were on every face as this woman with only one month to live now knew she would Live Forever.
