Celebrate Life 2014 “Christians Remember Those Gone Home”

Celebrating the life of a person that has gone to heaven is a great way to express our continued love for people gone home. On March 16, 2014 at 7 pm Journey of Hope is having a Celebrate Life Service. My wife and I intend to remember our parents and brothers whom we greatly miss and continue to love. We are inviting everyone to participate in this service by submitting the name(s) of loved ones that have completed their earthly journey.

On March 16 several things will be done to remember our loved ones. Their name will appear in a special remembrance bulletin. We are hopeful you can attend but if for some reason you cannot attend the service and have submitted the names of your loved ones, the bulletin will be available and can be mailed to you upon request. We simply ask that you include at least a $5 gift to help us pay for printing and shipping.

What a great memory it will be when a slide presentation of our loved ones gone home appears on our huge video screen and candles are lit by those remembering their loved ones. This will be a beautiful and moving part of this celebration of life. We are planning lots of special music and several prayers will be offered up thanking God for the time that we were blessed with and had with our loved ones.

If you would like to participate in this service by remembering your loved ones gone home, we need you to do a few things for us.

1. Send the name of your loved one(s) as you would like the name to appear on the video screen and in the bulletin. Include the birth and death year if you are able to remember it.

2. Send a picture of your loved one(s) so that we can scan the picture into our projection software for the slide presentation. Their name and birth and death year will appear with the picture if you are able to provide these dates.  (If you have a picture in a group please identify the person’s location in the picture and we will try to crop the picture so only their picture will be seen on the screen, we will do the best we can).

3. Let us know if you will or will not be attending the service on March 16 at 7 pm

4. Send or deliver all of the above to Journey of Hope Church, 8900 Pardee Road, Taylor, Michigan 48180 before March 7 and include a donation in memory of your loved one(s), if you can. All donations will go directly into the memorial building fund at Journey of Hope Church. If you have any questions you can call Dottie at 313-292-1660.

Everyone is invited to participate in this remembrance service and celebrate the life of people that we have continued to love. In 1 Corinthians 13, God’s Word says that love is the greatest thing and that it will remain when all the material stuff is gone. I believe our love for people who have finished their earthly journey not only continues but it grows. Count this blog as an open invitation for you to participate in this service. I hope and pray that you are able to participate in this Celebration of Life service.
