Jump a Rope

Three guys had a rope jumping contest. The first man bought the finest jump rope money could buy. He also purchased a colorful T-shirt, and a mighty fine pair of gym shorts. He had good intentions but on the day of the contest all the nice things he had purchased were in a drawer in his bedroom while he decided to sleep in.

The second young man bought a rope and on contest day he got the rope out and found out the rope was too short. He had purchased some great shoes but found out they were too small. He had purchased a flashy uniform but it was too big. He tried to jump rope but couldn’t.

The third man bought a rope, some shoes, and a nice outfit to jump rope in. Each day he dressed and tried hard until he could jump rope really well. He practiced every day until the day of the contest and guess what? He won.

Life is indeed like a contest. Are you ready for your big day. If the rope is your Bible do you put it in a drawer? Do you read it just a little?  Do you use it every day? When the test comes are you dressed for the test? Do your shoes fit? Do you have them on? Are you prepared?

When we know God’s word we are prepared for the contest or the tests of life. When we properly clothe ourselves for the contest with the robe of righteousness and the Ephesians 6 Armor of God, we will be ready to be victorious in the contest.
