May the Words of My Mouth

I have always desired that the words of my mouth would do two things. (1) Elevate people to a new and better level of life and (2) Glorify God.

I take this desire into my study as I begin to write my first book from a remote location. I have set aside the month of August to complete the writing, get the book to the editor and choose the title and cover. I have a launch team to help me in this process but this is an aggressive endeavor.

As I begin to write my first book, I am reminded how the simple truths of life can be the most profound. One of my internet mentors, Jim Rohn, was a master at making simple statements that were deeply profound. He would say things like, “What you don’t know, will hurt you.” Most of us have always heard, “What you don’t know, will not hurt you,” but that’s not true.

Jesus took simple parables to teach profound truth. At first reading, these parables are just a story.  The truth is sometimes so simple that a child can understand it.  Yet, it is so profound that the most cerebral adult may have a difficult time seeing the valuable truth Jesus was conveying.

In my first book I want to capture some simple truths that I learned, as a little boy, fishing with my dad. These simple truths are indeed profound, supported by scripture and have been continually helpful to me. I am praying that this book will help people who are discouraged. May these simple truths resonate with everyone as they read this book. And, may these truths help people improve their lives.
