Weekly Tip For a Better Life

There are various reasons we all need a vacation. I am on a Christmas vacation right now with my immediate family. There are eleven of us and at times the noise from all the conversations and laughter is exhilarating. The younger ones have been quarantined so long that they are anxious to communicate, and it is awesome. I needed this, and I love it.

  1. Vacation helps us to escape all the negative news. We are finally able to turn it off! The news has been continual, controversial, and crazy. Vacation gives us a long needed break from constantly hearing about the terrible state we are in because of this pandemic. We need to step away so that we can exercise faith over fear and common sense over stupidity.
  2. Vacation allows us to replace bad news with a huge shot of good news. Vacation conversations are light, sweet and positive. Stories are told and retold, and frequent bursts of laughter fill the rooms. We need to laugh.
  3. Vacation gives us time to get proper perspective and prioritize the things that are most important in life. It gives us time to realize and properly define the ‘why’ behind our work.
  4. We give, we work, and we try to put a positive spin on life. Without a break from these demands, life can become very unaccomplished, underwhelming and unfulfilling. Vacation helps us to replenish. It is like getting our almost empty energy tank filled up again.
