Last night we were visited and then went out to eat with a dear brother and sister in the Lord, Bob and Bonnie Rickel. They drove to our July home in The Villages, Florida, for a visit. If you read my book, The Butterscotch Story, this is the same Captain Bob mentioned in that book. He became a co-director of an exciting ministry we named The Inner-Prize.
Bob and I talked about how we had visited local businesses asking for donations. The first businessman we met with donated five hundred dollars and volunteered to give us supplies as we needed them. Christian people were eager to donate to the Inner-Prize. As doors that God opened for us, we walked through them. We were interviewed on the local Christian Radio Station and worked with the city’s Housing Authority. Managers of four subsidized housing areas welcomed us.
Have you ever met with a kindred spirit, and the time seemed to pass too quickly? Last night was like that. We have shared so many beautiful times that we did not want to say goodbye. As the outdoors light turned to darkness, we hugged and promised to get together again next year, Lord willing. When we are together, the closeness we feel is because we are one body, the Body of Christ. Do you have “One Body” relationships that are close? I hope you do. Bob and Bonnie, Dottie and I, have numerous “One Body” relationships. It is very glorious. We are open to invite you to be part of the Body of Christ, too. There is nothing like it. We are known for our love of God and each other.
