Leona and Butterscotch
Both of our daughters have quick wit and are spontaneous with humor. During their childhood, we were a family of Christian magicians and evangelists. It was an honor to entertain at all kinds of events. We performed at Reunions, Promotions; Scouts; Churches; Company Events; Conferences; and Magic Conventions in many States and Provinces.
Our Girls, Leona and Lynnette, were phenomenal little entertainers for their age. They were amazing Illusionists, superior at Scripture retention, sang beautiful solos, and more. It was an honor to lecture, and teach others how we did illusion programs as a family to present Biblical Truth. Their mom and my wife, Dottie perfected misdirection, chalk art, comedy, and more. The girls would enter the talent shows and we performed as a family on the main stage at many conferences and conventions. Both girls worked with our doves, rabbit, colorful scarves, flowers, coins, multiplying billiard balls and more. It was quite the performance and when my wife and daughters came onto the stage, I think I could have produced an elephant because no one was looking at me. All eyes were on the girls. What a privilege it was to perform as a family with some outstanding professional magicians in the audience.
One day at The Fellowship of Christian Magician’s Convention in Winona Lake Indiana, we attended a lecture on coin manipulation. Rev. Bill Baker (The Magician) was the presenter. It looked like he was pulling coins out of the air (a church treasurer dream). He was demonstrating a trick called the Miser’s Dream. During the lecture, he pretended to throw a silver dollar toward our daughter Leona, and asked her if she caught it. She yelled, “I sure did.” Without missing a beat, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a silver dollar that she showed to everyone attending the lecture. Our girls consistently amazed people with their quick wit.
Today, Leona is an Education Professional teaching teachers how to be better teachers. She is a mom of two children and the wife of a Godly man. Her entire family are actively involved in ministry and in their churches. Leona and Lynnette remain very witty and quite remarkable.
