We have read about it and you have heard it said, preached, sang, and illustrated many times in your life. But just in case you have missed the memo, “Enjoy the Moment.”
Enjoy being with the ones you love by being in the moments you have with them. Do not let your mind wander to other people or activities. Focus on the moment you have with people. Focus on them, the place you currently find yourself, the experience you are presently given because life on earth is short. Even Jesus said it in John 9.
4 As long as it is still day, we must do the works of him who sent me. The night is coming, when no one can work. 5 While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” John 9:4-5
It is still the day for us. It is our time to live on earth. It is also the day for others we know. It is time for us to make the most of now, our earthly existence. Do what you can while it is still the day, for the night is coming. The night is coming for you and for everyone else you know on earth. I believe our work includes living totally in the moment. We have planning moments, talking moments, doing moments, and relational moments.
Be in the moment for a better life, because life is unpredictable. We do not control time and yet time is ticking away every moment we live. Be sure to live in that moment. Who we encounter, where we will end up, what we will be doing is so unpredictable but we decide if we are going to live in the moment or not.
Think about that Scripture John 9:4-5. While we are in the world we are the light of the world is what Jesus said. He also said in Matthew 5 that we are lights in the world and we are to shine. Shine at every moment it helps you have a better life.
Life is not only unpredictable, but it is also unfathomable too. Not in a million years things happen all the time. Not in a million years would I have predicted the Carona-19 virus pandemic, but it happened. Not in a million years would we think we would be inflicted with health, relationship, financial, employment, etc. issues that we face almost every day. It seems the things we are sure of happening do not always happen. The paycheck Friday, the job that was a sure thing, the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow has not been promised by God, and they may not happen as we expect them to. We are told in Scripture not to worry, God will be with us and He will take care of us.
A tip for a better life is simply to live in, enjoy, and be in the moment. While it is still the day for you and every other person around you, live life to the full.
